ACIG Members have a financial stake in their claims and the performance of ACIG as a whole. For this reason, ACIG and its Members are closely aligned in ACIG’s goal to achieve the best possible outcome on every claim.

Instead of a traditional, often adversarial, Insurer-Insured relationship, the ACIG Claims Department strives to facilitate a true partnership between the Member and ACIG. This partnership allows us to further ACIG’s mission to reduce the overall cost of risk for our Members through efficient and effective claim management and expense reduction.

Dedicated Claims Service Team

ACIG Members have a dedicated Claims Department service team to facilitate the efficient handling of every claim. Through the ACIG-Member partnership, ACIG can achieve superior results on claims by aggressive claim investigation, active management and pre-qualification of a panel of accomplished defense counsel with subject matter expertise in construction matters, and thoughtful litigation management, including auditing litigation expenses and executing claim resolution strategies consistent with our mission.

Decades of Experience

Each claims professional at ACIG brings at least a decade, often decades, of experience in claims management with backgrounds in handling complex general liability, auto liability, worker's compensation, professional liability, and other claim types. We seek out top performers passionate about the art and science of claim handling and then partner their breadth and depth of experience with our Member’s claims and risk management professionals.

A Culture of Continuous Improvement

ACIG emphasizes a culture of continuous learning and development, including sharing best practices. To that end, the Claims Department regularly visits Members to discuss claims and related issues and offer suggestions and best practices on claims administration. Moreover, the Claims Department is regularly collaborating with colleagues in other Departments to identify emerging trends and develop risk mitigation strategies. The Claim service team is available on-demand to assist Members with any questions or concerns.

Pre-Loss Consulting Services

In addition, ACIG has a long-standing relationship with Dr. Stephen Dawkins and Caduceus. Caduceus is available to provide onsite telehealth exam capabilities to ACIG Members, and Dr. Dawkins provides certain pre-loss consulting services. Most recently, Dr. Dawkins has worked with ACIG Members to navigate the complex and evolving guidance involving working safely during COVID.
